The B5 Regimen For Acne

Hello visitor! Thank you for taking the time to read this article.

Acne is a common problem, but finding a cure for it is not at all easy. Those who are suffering from acne know exactly how hard it is to find an acne treatment regimen that actually works. Skin type differs from person to person so an acne regimen that works for one person may not work for another. There's never really a guarantee that an acne treatment may work for you, and the best you can really hope for is to find an acne treatment regimen with a high success rate. The B5 Regimen is just such an acne treatment regimen.

What is the B5 Regimen?

The B5 Regimen is a treatment plan that utilizes Vitamin B5 to cure acne. Vitamin B5, otherwise known as Pantothenic Acid, is a vitamin that helps metabolize fats and break down sebum.

Vitamin B5's use in the treatment of acne was discovered by Dr. Lit-Hung Leung. He discovered that high doses of Vitamin B5 can actually decreased pore size and decrease acne incidence. In his study, he acquired a success rate of 90%, which is rather high for an acne treatment regimen, especially since his subjects experienced total acne remission.

Vitamin B5 is a water soluble vitamin. This basically means that its side effects, like diarrhea and stomach irritation, are rather rare and mild and will disappear completely if you stop the acne treatment regimen. If you do decide to continue taking the vitamin treatment, however, the side effects will eventually disappear. You may also drink a lot of water to lessen the severity of the side effects or lower your vitamin dosage.

It is important to note, however, that with the B5 Regimen, things will "appear" to get worse before they get better. When you begin your B5 acne treatment regimen, more pimples will break out. Your skin will also become oilier. At this point, some people naturally decide to just quit. What they don't know is that this is all part of the process. The sebum that is found deep within the pores is pushed up onto the surface, thus making the skin oily and making one more prone to acne breakouts. However, once this phase is over, your skin will start clearing up and you will gain the benefits of the B5 acne treatment regimen.

How much Vitamin B5 should you take?

The amount of Vitamin B5 needed to treat acne actually differs from person to person. Some people need only a small amount to treat their acne, while others need really large doses. The best you can do to ensure that you get the right dose is to take 2 grams for the first three days. This will help your body adjust and let you gauge the severity of the side effects. After that, you can take about 10 grams per day for three months, or at least until the acne heals. When it does, taper off the dosage little by little until you get the lowest possible dose that is still effective in keeping you free of acne.

The problem with Vitamin B5 is that if you stop taking it, there's a large possibility that you will once again suffer from acne. So once you start, be sure to follow your daily regimen and to never miss a dose. Remember, sometimes, the reason why the B5 regimen doesn't work on some people is because they're taking too low a dose for acne treatment to become possible.
